Seals with clubs or SwCPoker as the company refers to itself on the website is a poker room. You will not find any slots or other games on SwCPoker it is a site designed exclusively for poker players. The site has a very old feel to it and this is testimony to the fact that it was one of the first poker rooms to offer bitcoin poker tables.
The site used to be one of the biggest bitcoin poker sites available but it doesn’t really compete with the bigger sites now that many have adopted the bitcoin currency. However it may we worth a look if you are interested in playing bitcoin poker.
The first thing you need to do if you want to open an account is head over to the site of course. You will be forgiven if you think you have just stepped into a time machine and traveled back 20 years but don’t let that put you off. At the top of the screen is a large banner inviting you to download the PC Client – we went ahead and did just that.
Once you have downloaded the client, you will find the SwC Poker Client on your desktop. Open that, and then click Log In. There is an option to register on this screen. Clicking that brings up a very basic registration screen requiring you to enter just your e-mail address, select a user name and choose a password.
Having done this we were up and running, the entire process took a little under five minutes.
The client itself has a somewhat dated feel to it. We found it was small when it first loaded but thanks to the handy extender in the bottom right corner we were able to drag it to our preferred size which we liked.
SwC offer a variety of games including ring games, tournaments and sngs. There are also a number of different formats offered including: Holdem, Omaha, Stud, Draw Games, Mixed and Chinese.
We found traffic to be very low during our testing which was (in fairness…) at approximately 5.30AM CET.
The tables operate smoothly enough and are also re sizable via sizing corners.
There is a handy active games tab at the top of the lobby which allows you to view the tables with players at them, we found this useful when we were looking for a quick game and didn’t want to spend too much time scanning the lobby.
One feature we did really like was the global chat room. This allows the entire community to chat in real time – which given the community is fairly small – works quite well. Aside from the typical bad beat stories we heard we also found players seeking out games with each other which is a great feature and one that brings just a little bit of real life interaction back to the online poker room.
Depositing into the site is easy. You simply click account at the top of the screen, then cashier, and finally deposit. You are then presented with a bitcoin wallet to send funds to. Deposits are ready to play and in your account after one confirmation.
The bonus system on SwC poker is simple and consists of: Krill, Table Starter Rakeback, and Freerolls.
Krill is a points based system which awards you points every time you sit and play in a raked pot of poker, the full calculation is a little complicated but is based on the number of players in the hand, and the rake. You keep krill points as you earn them, and the idea is to earn as many as you can. Players that reach the heady heights of 10,000,000 Krill are rewarded with the highest rakeback level in the game (50%).
Table starter rakeback is paid out to any table with three or less players provided there are six or more seats at the table. For any table table with three or less players dealt into the hand that meets this requirement all players receive 50% rakeback which is paid out each Monday.
There are also a number of freerolls available daily at various times with very small prizepools should you wish to try your luck at making some money starting from nothing.
If you like poker SwC may well be worth a look. We liked the community chat feature and the rake is low. However SwC poker is a poker only site, and there are plenty of better poker rooms out there to play on. What’s more the graphics are dated and the promotions not all that appealing. All in all, we weren’t overly impressed with SwC which is reflected in the score we awarded it.Play low rake Bitcoin Poker Now!
